About the Centre

North Melbourne Recreation Centre (NMRC) is an aquatic and recreation Centre that supports participation in sport at all levels, from family to professional. It is also home to North Melbourne Football Club and Fencing Victoria. The Centre is designed to provide the community with a range of recreational, social, cultural and educational experiences. NMRC is located at 206 Arden St, North Melbourne and includes the following facilities. One Court Stadium Health Club Group Fitness Room Spin Room Multi-Purpose Rooms Outdoor Heated Pool Outdoor Heated Toddler Pool.

About the role 

As the Health & Fitness Coordinator you will play a key role within the North Melbourne Recreation Centre leadership team, driving the performance outcomes for the health and fitness team while providing a high quality and robust programming schedule, focusing of driving participation and member retention. In this role you will oversee our health club and group fitness programs portfolios. You will be a considered decision maker and will be able to manage a multitude of tasks utilising good time management and organisational skills. 

You will also assist the Manager by working as part of the Manager on Duty roster, where they provide support to customers and staff across all areas of the facility.

This is a full time position with a salary of $57,901 + Super.

We are looking for someone eager to to learn the ropes and play a key role within the leadership team. 

To be successful in this role you will:
 

  • Have the ability to prioritise and manage time effectively
  • Think creatively with a solution focused approach
  • Be approachable and personable, with a customer focused approach to your work

Essential Qualifications   
 

  • First Aid certificate
  • CPR certificate
  • Pool Lifeguard Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
  • Minimum Certificate III in Fitness
  • Current registration with Fitness Australia

Other Desired Qualifications 
 

  • Leadership experience
  • Relevant diploma or equivalent
  • Sport and Recreation and / or Facility Operations experience
